How do I login to edit my profile?
Go the the 'Login' page, during registration you will have chosen a username and password, simply key in your username and password and then click the 'enter' button. You can log in and edit your profile whenever you like.
If you've lost your login details, simply click on 'i've forgotton my password' and fill in the form and the system will then send a reminder to your email address.
Will you interfere with my bookings?
No, we are not an agency; we simply offer an online platform to allow you to promote yourself. Any booking enquiries you receive through the site are entirely your responsibility. We do not interfere; you are entitled to 100% of the profits you gain from receiving bookings through ShowSpace.
If I sign up what will you do to get me work?
We will actively promote the website to agencies, broadcasters, casting agents, event companies, promoters, venues and to the general public! However please remember that we are not an entertainment agency we are simply an interactive directory service, therefore we are not contracted to find you work or promote you on an individual basis.
Will you get involved if someone makes a complaint against me with regard to one of my performances?
No, we do not interfere and cannot take responsibility for anything that goes on between you or any client you gain through ShowSpace.
However, if we are made aware by any of your clients of any serious incidents or breaches of our terms and conditions we will investigate the matter. We may choose to delete your profile and refuse you further use of the website.
Someone’s left a bad review on my profile, what can I do?
Firstly, be honest and ask yourself, did I deserve a bad review, secondly remember that everyone has a right to their opinion. The review system is designed to allow people to leave honest feedback and helps other clients to evaluate whether they want to book you or not. You will note that anyone who leaves a review has to add their email address (which is featured above it). If you are concerned about a review, use their email to contact them directly to discuss it further.
We will NOT remove any reviews or get involved in disputes concerning reviews. The only instance we will remove a review is if it contains threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene or indecent content.

What will you do with my personal information
We know that there's nothing more annoying than getting bombarded with spam mail, we will never sell your personal information to 3rd parties. Any offers we are promoting will be advertised either through the website or via our newsletter page.
Are my personal details available online?
Since we are an entertainment directory service, the very nature of our website is to provide contact information for user's to contact you. You are ultimately in charge of what contact information you display in your profile, if you do not wish to display contact information such as phone numbers, addresses etc simply delete them in the "details" tab of your profile.
Though an email address is required in order to register with the site, we do not display email addresses. This is to protect your privacy by preventing datamining and stopping spammers from collecting your email addresses. Clients can use the contact tab within your profile to send you an email, this email will go directly to your registered email address.

I tried to register but it said that my email address was not valid, why?
Please make sure that there are no spaces, before or after your email address. If you have registered another ShowSpace account under this email address you will need to use a different email address in order to register a new account.
I already have a free entertainers profile, how do I upgrade?
Simply login to your account, click on the premium info tab, and follow the instructions to upgrade to either a STAR or SUPERSTAR account.
Can I have more than one ShowSpace profile?
Yes and No! You can have multiple STAR or SUPERSTAR profiles but you can only have 1 free profile. You cannot register more than one free ShowSpace profile. If we find that you’ve registered more than one for the same act we will delete them.
How does the hierarchy of the search listings work?
Our enhanced search parameters are very specific, if more than one entertainer matches a users search requirements, the results will be displayed at random depending on their subscription type. This means that everyone gets a fair chance at appearing highest in the listings.
SUPERSTAR subscribers get the highest rankings in the search results, profiles are rotated randomly to appear in the featured artist section on the left of every page and most importantly on the homepage.
STAR subscribers come second in the rankings below the SUPERSTAR users.
BASIC FREE MEMBERS come below the SUPERSTAR and STAR users in the search listings.
I want to create a profile for an agency?
We do not offer profiles to agencies, this is because the aim of our directory is to showcase the individual talents of entertainers and creative professionals. We want our users to be able to see an entertainers' act, not just a business listing. If you would like to create profiles for multiple entertainers' we offer a discounted rate to agencies and businesses for multiple subscriptions. Please visit our 'terms and conditions' page to refer to our restrictions of use or contact us directly for a quote.
In your terms and conditions it states that an entertainer cannot add any explicit images, but my act involves partial/full nudity?
It's very difficult to define "explicit", if your worried about your picture content we would suggest not putting any images up that you wouldn't want a child to see. Bikinis/Mankinis ACCEPTABLE, Nipple tassles//thongs/graphic nudity etc UN-ACCEPTABLE. Please help us to avoid complaints by not putting anything too raunchy on your profile.
We use Youtube to host our videos, you can embed 4 videos with a STAR account and 10 videos with a SUPERSTAR account.
My Youtube video features partial/full nudity, am I allowed to add it to my ShowSpace profile?
Our rule of thumb, if you wouldn't want a child to see it, don't add it to your ShowSpace profile. NO NUDITY. If your Youtube video features partial nudity or anything for adult eyes only please put a warning within the title line of the video. That way customers have a choice whether to watch it or not.

How do I access the forum?
When you’re logged into your account simply click on the 'Forums' tab at the top right of the page. To access the forum in order to leave posts etc login using your ShowSpace username and password. You have to be logged into the forum in order to add gig listings and to respond to job adverts.
How do I add my gig to the gigs listing?
Adding your upcoming performances to the gig calendar is a great way to advertise, as any gig you enter will appear under the gigs tab a few weeks/days before your performance. To add a gig:
- Login into your account and click the forum tab at the top right of the page
- Login into the forum using the same login details
- Click on "Gig Listings"
- Click on "Add Gig Listing"
- Fill in the required fields making sure to include the Location of your gig in the “Name of Gig” field.
- Enter in the date using the fields required
- Enter the “Number of Days” you would like the advert for the gig to run for
- Fill in the large box provided with any other information you would like to include about the gig
User’s can find gigs by clicking on the 'Gigs tab' to view upcoming performances or by going directly through your profile and clicking on“Forum Profile/Gig Listing” below your profile picture. This will take them to your forum page where they can click on the “gig calendar” to view all of the performances you have entered.
How do I add a job to the jobs listings?
Within the forum simply click on ‘job listings’, click on ‘new topic’ and then add your job advert. Most recently added jobs will appear under the 'Jobs' tab on the website.
How do I apply for a job?
Click on the job, this will take you directly to the job advert within the forum, then click reply.
By adding ShowSpace badges to your profile you are declaring that you have the documentation relevant to that badge. Please do not add badges unless you are willing to produce that documentation upon the request of anyone wishing to book you.
I have a booking contract
We would always recommend having a booking contract between yourself and a client.
Criminal records bureau checks (CRB)
My C.R.B check is currently being processed, can I still declare that I have had a check by adding a CRB badge to my profile?
No, you must only add a CRB badge to your profile if you have received your certificate and are able to produce it upon the request of a client.
I have a criminal record; can I add a CRB badge to my profile?
Yes, as long as you have had a CRB check done and can produce the certificate upon the request of a client. A CRB disclosure certificate will list any prior convictions that you have. If you have declared on your profile that you have had a CRB check any client booking you WILL ask to see it. If you’re not comfortable divulging prior convictions to potential clients then please DO NOT add a CRB badge to your profile.
*a person who is barred from working with children or vulnerable adults will be breaking the law if they work or volunteer, or try to work or volunteer with those groups

Public Liability insurance
I have public liability insurance, do I have to show a client my insurance certificate?
By adding the PLI badge to your ShowSpace profile you have declared that you have public liability insurance. You should therefore be prepared to show clients your insurance certificate if they ask to see it.
Care badges – offering discounts to charities, hospitals and care homes
Why do you have a Care badge?
We added the care badge to encourage entertainers to offer discounts to organisations and services that don’t necessarily have the funds to book them at normal rates. There is a high level of inactivity within hospitals & care homes; though it is a problem that is slowly being addressed through government initiatives and legislation. It is recognised that providing entertainment (and therefore stimulation) within a caring environment, promotes independence amongst residents/patients as well as reducing challenging behavior and stress levels. As the evidence for recreational therapy grows, so will the care industries need for entertainers.
If I add a care badge to my profile how much discount do I have to offer?
As an entertainer you set your own prices so it’s ultimately up to you how much discount you choose to offer. The best thing to do would be to ask the charity/hospital/care home what they can reasonably afford. If you have a set price for all of your performances we would expect you to offer at least 15% off your full performance price or alternatively you could throw in another performance for free.
*PLEASE do not add a care badge to your profile if you’re not actually willing to offer discounts to such groups. It’s mean spirited and if you get caught out it could seriously damage your reputation as a performer.
Why do you offer a FREE basic listing?
We want ShowSpace to become the most comprehensive entertainment directory in the UK so it's important to make it accessible to everyone. Entertainers who don't have a large marketing budget can list their act under our 'free basic' listing.
I have a discount voucher, how do I use it?
When registering for a new account, there is a box at the top of the 'registration page'. Simply input your voucher code into the box and then fill out the remainder of the registration form. When you press ‘create an account’ you will be re-directed to your discounted profile. When your voucher expires the system will automatically send you an email asking you if you would like to continue your membership.
Apart from the monthly/yearly subscription fee will I incur any other charges?
No, your yearly fee includes everything and can either be paid all in one go or in small monthly installments. We offer a discount when you pay the yearly fee, no other charges apply with our current subscriptions. Unlike other directories, we like to keep things simple, we don't charge you per area, per category or for recieving booking enquiries.
Can I get a refund if I cancel my account?
Yes, you have a grace period of 14 days after purchasing a ShowSpace account to apply for a refund, please see our 'Terms and Conditions' for more information. By purchasing a ShowSpace account you are effectively buying an advertising space therefore we do not offer refunds after 14 days, however you are free to cancel your account at any time.
- After 14 days if you have paid the yearly subscription charge we will not refund it.
- If you are paying on a monthly basis we will remove your profile and cancel your payments so you will not have to pay the remainder of the fees.
