Film maker/artist, Gedling Borough Council
« on: February 23, 2015, 02:04:50 pm »
A film maker/artist is required for a project working with schools and early years providers in Netherfield/Colwick in Nottinghsmahire.

At the moment a significant number of children starting school in Netherfield and Colwick are around 18 months behind the national average in terms of attainment. The schools find that many of their reception class children are lacking some of the practical, social and communication skills they need to enable them to thrive at school such as:
•being relatively independent in their own personal care
•able to communicate their needs and understand others
•coping emotionally with being separated from their parents/carers
•demonstrating a curiosity about the world and a desire to learn alongside their peers

To assist the schools and the local community in working with families, we would like to commission a film maker/artist to create a film which can be shared with parents/carers and partner organisations, to improve cycles of behaviour and the ways in which children are supported in preparing for the start of school. The film should look to address some of the issues identified by the schools in a supportive and positive way.
