Telephone 01947 893827

Contact: Jo Davis

McMillan Cancer Care and Scarborough General Hospital are looking for artists to create
artwork for a proposed new garden and ward area.  The commission will include 3 external sculptural pieces and internal wall based artwork and glass manifestations.  The theme is nature and should be uplifting in content.
Sculpture must be low maintenance and it is envisaged that work in the ward area will be a continuation of a similar theme to the garden and its artwork.  This may suite two or three artists working together.
To be delivered within a minimum budget of £10,000.

Artists are asked to submit images and a CV with a letter of application outlining your interest in the project and your availability.    A maximum of 12 images in the first instance should be submitted in the form of photographic prints.
Please send your applications by 15TH September 2014 to  Jo Davis. Whitby Hospital, Spring Hill, Whitby, YO21 1DP.

Please do not contact the hospital direct.

If you have not heard from us by October 30th, please assume that you have not been successful in your application.  If you are not successful, we would still like to keep your details and images on file as we have an on-going database of artists that we use for projects with limited inbuilt advertising and administration costs.

If you do not want your images to be retained, please include a stamped addressed envelope with your application.

Short listing will be undertaken by a panel and approximately three artists per commission will be invited for interview.  The selection process will involve a Selection Committee chosen from Hafney, Staff and Patient representatives and a minimum of  3 professional artists .
