Two Artist Team / Arts Company

We invite a joint application from an established artist team or arts company. The artists will work with families as part ofLearning Together, a fascinating three year action research programme funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, which aims to enrich, inform and help develop the existing YSP family programme.

 The successful applicants will assist the Head of Learning and Family Learning Coordinator in developing a programme of activity based family research days alongside developing resources to engage family audiences.

 These are exciting opportunities for committed and experienced artists to work together to help investigate and build relationships with intergenerational participants at YSP.

Amplify Talent UK is a West Midlands based performing arts coaching company.  Our studio is based in Aldridge, Walsall and we have a wonderful team of instructors covering a diverse spectrum of performing arts. We have a 100% exam pass rate and some of our students have secured casting management agents, as well as leading roles in local productions and short films.  Classes at our studio fall in line with school term time.

We are looking for a classical dance teacher to join our faculty from September 2016, for initially 4 hours per week (£240-£300 per month).  The role involves teaching junior and senior students aged 7+ on Saturday afternoons to prepare them for IDTA examinations and public shows:

2-2:30 pm Tap (Primary IDTA syllabus)

2:30 - 3 pm Ballet (Primary IDTA syllabus)

3-4 pm Ballet (Grade 2 IDTA syllabus)

5-6 pm Tap (Grade 2 IDTA syllabus)

*Experience coaching gymnastics would be advantageous, enabling the candidate to also lead our 4-5 pm gymnastics session assisted by an ex Great British gymnast*

Additional hours are available across holiday clubs, school workshops, instructor cover and reception.  All of our instructors are freelancers paid on a weekly basis, taking responsibility for their own tax and national insurance.

Call for a Charismatic Male Actor

Call for a charismatic actor of any ethnicity or background, who relishes playing strong/arrogant characters. Playing age 28-40, for a central role in a new play performing at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016:

5 Out of 10 Men

 Up to 80% of all suicides in the UK are male; nearly 50% of men who die under the age of 45 die by their own hand.

This is a show concerning the 21st Century crisis of masculinity and modern rites of passage through a physical ensemble. Our aim is to create an open, playful space for audience and actors to meet, witness and explore. This piece will delve into discussion of the gendered roles of men, identity and change and will not shy away from the complexities of what that means in a modern world.

Deep Diving Men are an ethical, ensemble-based theatre company that call for creativity, bravery and excellent team-working skills.

Rehearsals will fuse text with a workshop approach to inspire a multi-layered piece that pushes the ensemble to the physical, mental and emotional limits.

We are looking for an actor who:

    Can be versatile and contribute to the rehearsal process.

    Engage passionately with the themes.

    Have a strong sense of play.

    Have some previous experience or training in physically focused work.

BE FESTIVAL is a Birmingham-based arts organisation dedicated to bringing high quality European theatre and dance to audiences all around the UK, and offering valuable and innovative development opportunities to artists and young people.

Have you ever wanted to be HAMLET?

BE are looking for any men, willing to be on stage in the performance “Hamlet” by the Italian company Collettivo Cinetico, on the 23rd of June 2016. The performance will take place at The Birmingham Repertory Theatre, as part of BE FESTIVAL.

In the role you will be interacting with the audience and action on stage in order to get the part of Hamlet. There are no rehearsals! Everything happens on stage and in the moment!  You will be given short extracts of text for you to learn by heart and simple tasks to prepare just a few days before the show. Professional experience or theatre training is not required.

Your participation will be remunerated and there is an additional prize for the winner!

Once you express your intention to participate, you will receive the handbook that will hold all the useful information in order to be (or not to be) Hamlet. We are inviting applications from artists working with graffiti/street art for a commission at Langley Green Hospital, an acute adult mental health hospital in Crawley, West Sussex.   Our project is focused on the hospital gardens which include a number of metal fencing panels that we would like to transform through a participatory art project involving our patients and staff.
 
 
The successful artist will offer both excellence in their art form, as well as a proven track record in socially engaged and participatory arts practice.  You will need excellent communication skills and experience of running workshops with vulnerable adults.  The commission will involve working with project participants to develop design ideas appropriate for the setting.  You will also be responsible for production and installation of the final design on time and within budget.
 
Commission fee £2,300 inclusive for all stages of the project including travel, planning, delivery, design, installation and evaluation.  A separate materials budget is available.

Kids in Museums is seeking a freelance Project Coordinator to work in North Wales on their projects including Takeover Day – a day on which children and young people are given meaningful roles within museums.

It is anticipated that the person in the role will work flexibly with hours and days worked responding to the needs of the project as appropriate. There is an expectation that the contract holder will dedicate a minimum of 20 days to the delivery of this work across the duration of the contract.

In accordance with the conditions of our funding and the aims of the project we are seeking someone who is fluent in English and Welsh.

The Strings Club is an award-winning music education provider for children age 4-11. Based across Birmingham and London, our Ofsted-registered summer holiday camps are set to be as popular as ever with a range of music lessons, activities and workshops on offer.

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic workshop leaders to lead dynamic, lively and unique workshops at our award-winning Holiday Camps in Birmingham this summer holidays.

Based at the beautoful Blue Coat School, Harborne, our ideal workshops are themed around music/performing arts/sport/drama/dance and should be fun well-planned and truly unique. Each afternoon workshop session is 45 mins - however if it's something amazing, you're welcome to present a 90 mins workshop.

Pay: £25-£50 per workshop.

We are seeking an organised and skilled technician to support the Somerset Rural Life Museum Re-development Project and key heritage projects run by the South West Heritage Trust.

The Somerset Rural Life Museum, Glastonbury, is undergoing a £2.3 million re-development which is due to be completed in the spring of 2017. The project will create new learning and visitor facilities and refurbish the gallery displays throughout the site.

With previous work experience and skills in wood and metal work you will assist with the design and construction of permanent and temporary exhibitions including creative displays, object mounting and lighting for the South West Heritage Trust museums including the re-development of the Somerset Rural Life Museum.

The South West Heritage Trust is a charity which delivers a broad range of heritage services across Somerset and Devon. We are a growing organisation, founded on services that were previously delivered by Somerset and Devon County Councils. With a turnover exceeding £3 million, we manage and run three museums (including the Museum of Somerset), 2 Archives and Local Studies services and look after the historic environment in Somerset.

The job will be based at the Somerset Heritage Centre in Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton but the ability to travel across the County will be necessary.
